Cardinals pitcher Trevor Rosenthal left practice Tuesday due to leg discomfort, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Rosenthal felt something in his upper leg/quad. He cut his session short as a precaution. Rosenthal was being stretched out as a starter but will likely wind up in the bullpen during the regular season.

Rosenthal posted a 2.63 ERA in 75 1/3 innings in 2013.
