2017 Outlook: DeAndre Smelter

DeAndre Smelter will compete for a role with the 49ers this season, but he has a lot to prove before Fantasy owners can trust him. He missed his rookie season in 2015 with a knee injury, and he had just one catch for 23 yards in 2016. New coach Kyle Shanahan might be able to get Smelter's career on track, but he shouldn't be drafted in the majority of leagues. If he starts off the season playing at a high level then add Smelter off the waiver wire.
