The Orioles have signed free agent right-hander Jair Jurrjens, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. The one-year contract includes a $1.5 million base salary with another $2.5 million in incentives.

Jurrjens, 26, was non-tendered by the Braves earlier this offseason. He pitched to a 6.89 ERA with nearly as many walks (18) as strikeouts (19) in 48 1/3 innings for Atlanta last season, one year after posting a 2.96 ERA and being named to the NL All-Star team. Jurrjens owns a 3.62 ERA in parts of six big-league seasons while battling numerous injuries, including knee surgery.

The Orioles had trade interest in Jurrjens last winter. They're adding him to a crop of potential starters that includes Jason Hammel, Wei-Yin Chen, Chris Tillman, Miguel Gonzalez, Steve Johnson, Jake Arrieta, and Zach Britton. Brian Matusz could get another crack at the rotation as well.
