The Yomiuri Giants in talks with Casey McGehee, according to Nikkan Sports via YakyuBaka.com.

A number of teams in the Nippon Professional Baseball leagues have shown interest in the 30-year-old McGehee, but the Giants are the front-runner. According to the report, they could get a deal done with McGehee within the next five days or so.

McGehee’s best season came in 2010 with the Brewers. He hit .285/.337/.464 with 23 home runs that year. While McGehee had a short run of effectiveness, he was a great pickup for the Brewers, who acquired him on a waiver claim.
