Angels' Mickey Moniak: Belts first grand slam
Moniak went 1-for-2 with a grand slam and an additional run during Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.
Moniak flipped the game on its head in the fourth inning, giving the Halos a three-run advantage after swatting his first career grand slam at the expense of Mitch Spence. The center fielder is batting .220 with three home runs, four steals and 18 RBI since Mike Trout (knee) got hurt in late April.

Moniak produced the Angels' first run with a solo shot to center field in the second inning. Though he's still posting an ugly .194/.241/.300 slash line on the season, the outfielder has been heating up of late. Moniak has hit safely in seven straight games, batting .391 (9-for-23) with four extra-base hits, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases while starting in center field in all but one contest during that stretch.

Angels' Mickey Moniak: Rips three extra-base hits
Moniak went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Giants.
Moniak supplied a two-run double in the third inning. He's hit safely in six straight games, going 8-for-19 (.421) with five RBI, four walks and two stolen bases in that span. Kevin Pillar has been excellent since joining the Angels in May, but he'd been platooning with Moniak until recently. With Taylor Ward slumping and potentially on the trade block, there could be room for Pillar in left field and Moniak in center, though the latter will have to keep hitting to maintain playing time. Moniak is slashing .192/.241/.282 with two home runs, six doubles, one triple, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and four steals over 166 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Mickey Moniak: Swipes bag in loss
Moniak went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Astros.
Moniak remains cold at the plate, going 3-for-32 with seven strikeouts over his last 10 contests. The steal was his third of the season, though he's hardly gotten on base enough to make much of an impact in that area. He's slashing .163/.197/.234 with two home runs, nine RBI and 12 runs scored over 147 plate appearances. Despite Moniak's obvious struggles, he's maintained a strong-side platoon role in center field while the hot-hitting Kevin Pillar functions as more of a fourth outfielder.
