Brewers' Sal Frelick: Resting against lefty
Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
Frelick will take a seat for the second game in a row, this time against a left-handed pitcher (Brandon Williamson) after he had been excluded from the lineup Saturday versus right-handed opening pitcher Fernando Cruz. The outfielder fouled a ball off his shin Wednesday against the Giants, and though he returned to the lineup two days later and played both ends of a doubleheader with the Reds, Brewers manager Pat Murphy may just have wanted to exercise some extra caution with Frelick by giving him two straight days off. September call-up Brewer HIcklen will step in for Frelick as the Brewers' starter in right field Sunday.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Sitting Saturday
Frelick isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game against Cincinnati.
Frelick has been heating up at the plate as of late, going 9-for-23 with four RBI and four runs scored over his last six games. He'll get a chance to rest Saturday while Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins and Garrett Mitchell form the Brewers' outfield trio.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Back in lineup Friday
Frelick (shin) will start in right field and bat eighth in the first game of Friday's doubleheader in Cincinnati.
Frelick exited Wednesday's game versus the Giants after fouling a ball off his shin and then didn't play Thursday. That was viewed as more of a routine day off than an injury-related concern, however, and Frelick is back in there for the first game of the twin bill.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Getting day off
Frelick is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.
As Adam McCalvy of MLB.com notes, Frelick fouled a ball off himself during Wednesday's 5-3 win and was removed from the contest in the top of the eighth inning, but his early exit seems to have been mostly precautionary. McCalvy characterized Frelick's absence from the lineup Thursday as more of an off day rather than the result of legitimate concern about his health, so the expectation is that the 24-year-old will be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener in Cincinnati. Garrett Mitchell will spell Frelick in right field Thursday.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Flashes wheels in win
Frelick went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
He opened the scoring in the second inning with a single that drove in Willy Adames, then came home himself in the fifth after ripping a one-out triple into the right-field corner. Frelick's steal was his 16th of the year, but despite Tuesday's performance he's slashing just .226/.293/.302 through 17 games in August with zero homers, two stolen bases, four RBI and 10 runs.

Frelick went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored during Thursday's 16-7 win versus Atlanta.
Frelick tallied four singles as the Brewers totaled 20 hits on the afternoon, though he's now without an extra-base hit in his past 11 contests. The 24-year-old is batting .274 through 102 games this season but isn't offering much pop with a .344 slugging percentage. Frelick has two homers, 15 steals, 20 RBI and 51 runs scored.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Retreating to bench versus lefty
Frelick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Idle against southpaw
Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
The lefty-hitting Frelick had started in each of Milwaukee's last five games -- including two against left-handed starters -- but he'll head to the bench Sunday while southpaw Mitchell Parker takes the hill for the Nationals. Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins and Garrett Mitchell will make up the Milwaukee outfield from left to right.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Crosses plate three times Friday
Frelick went 2-for-4 with three runs scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.
Getting another start in right field and batting seventh, Frelick singled in the second and eighth innings and got hit by a pitch in the sixth, coming around to score all three times. Over his last 16 contests, the 24-year-old is slashing .309/.377/.418 with two steals, two RBI and nine runs. Brice Turang has a .220 OBP since the beginning of July, and if manager Pat Murphy elects to shake up his batting order against right-handed pitching, Frelick's making a strong case to get a look in the leadoff spot.
