Suwinski went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Friday against the Rockies.
Suwinski went yard in the seventh inning to give the Pirates a couple insurance runs. It was his second home run in eight games since returning from Triple-A Indianapolis, though he's gone just 4-for-24 with a 48.4 percent strikeout rate in that span. Despite those struggles, Suwinski remains the primary center fielder and has started eight of Pittsburgh's last 10 games.
Suwinski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Suwinski has mostly served as a strong-side platoon outfielder since being called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on June 4, but he'll step out of the lineup Wednesday against Cardinals right-hander Sonny Gray. Michael Taylor will replace Suwinski in center field.
Suwinski isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against Minnesota.
Suwinski has gone 3-for-13 with a homer and two RBI since returning to the majors Tuesday, and he'll now get a chance to rest versus Simeon Woods Richardson and the Twins. Michael Taylor will fill the void in center field and bat ninth.
