Schneider went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.
Schneider has gone 7-for-28 (.250) with three homers over his last eight games. He's usually hit leadoff this season, but he was dropped to sixth in the order Saturday, with Isiah Kiner-Falefa moving up to the top spot and slugging two homers of his own. Schneider's .227 batting average isn't great for a leadoff hitter, though his .319 on-base percentage is a bit more passable. He's added 10 homers, 35 RBI, 32 runs scored, three stolen bases and 15 doubles over 251 plate appearances. While he could ultimately stick lower in the order, Schneider's short-term playing time should be safe after Daulton Varsho left Saturday's contest with back soreness.
Schneider is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Schneider will retreat to the bench after he started in each of the past three games while going 2-for-12 with a solo home run, a double and two walks. With Schneider out of the lineup, the Blue Jays will open up a spot in the outfield for Kevin Kiermaier, who will be flanked by Daulton Varsho in left field and George Springer in right field.

The 25-year-old took Nick Pivetta deep in the seventh inning, but Toronto was in a 7-2 hole at that point. Schneider has been struggling in June, slashing .170/.224/.302 through 16 games, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him moved down in the order from his usual spot hitting first or second. On the season, he's batting .225 with nine homers, three steals, 31 runs and 34 RBI in 65 contests.
Schneider is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Guardians, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Schneider will take a seat after he went 3-for-8 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored over the team's last two contests. Daulton Varsho will slot in at left field while Kevin Kiermaier (knee) returns to the lineup in center field and bats ninth against Cleveland.
Schneider is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee.
It marks two games out of the last three that Schneider's name has been missing from the lineup card. Daulton Varsho will be in left field for the Blue Jays while Spencer Horwitz handles second base and hits leadoff.
