Top Nicolas Batum News

  • Clippers' Nicolas Batum: Puts up 19 points in win

Batum posted 19 points (6-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 34 minutes in France's 78-66 win over Brazil in the Paris Olympics on Saturday.

Batum heavily contributed in the scoring column while picking up significant minutes in Saturday's win. The 35-year-old is competing in his fourth Olympic Games, and his veteran presence will play an important role in France's Olympic campaign. The 16-year NBA vet played in 57 regular-season games for the 76ers last season, during which he averaged 5.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 25.8 minutes.

  • Clippers' Nicolas Batum: Agrees to deal with Clippers

Batum and the Clippers agreed to a two-year, $9.6 million deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Batum had a strong market in free agency including some reported interest from the Spurs, but the veteran opted to return to a familiar franchise. Batum spent four seasons with the Clippers before joining the 76ers in 2023-24, and he will provide the team with some quality depth at both forward positions despite his advanced age.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Parting ways with Philadelphia

Batum doesn't plan to return to the 76ers in free agency, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.

Batum will hit free agency following a season in which he appeared in 60 regular-season games, including 38 starts. Batum saw a significant role in the playoffs, averaging 6.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28.3 minutes per game during Philadelphia's first-round matchup against the Knicks, proving he still can add value to a team. As such, the 35-year-old pro will likely receive some interest in free agency.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Significant role yields little offense

Batum provided four points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 125-114 victory over the Knicks in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Batum continues to do very little on offense despite playing meaningful minutes, highlighting the 76ers' lack of depth. Although he did manage three combined steals and blocks, the team would likely love for him to have scored more than four points. Given the 76ers have very few options when it comes to somewhat reliable producers, Batum should continue to play a significant role moving forward.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Shines off bench Wednesday

Batum provided 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt), five rebounds and one block in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game victory over the Heat.

It was widely known that Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were going to carry the 76ers in this matchup against the Heat, but Philadelphia likely wouldn't have gotten the win without Batum's impressive effort off the bench. The 20-point output was a season-high mark for the veteran, and even though his role is not going to change drastically in the first-round matchup against New York, he should continue to see decent minutes on a regular basis. He went scoreless in four appearances against the Knicks during the regular season.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Back to bench

Batum isn't starting Friday's game against the Magic, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

Batum will retreat to a bench role as Philly's starting five has returned to full strength. He's averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his last four appearances as a reserve.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Late addition to first unit

Batum is now listed as the 76ers' starting small forward for Sunday's game against the Spurs, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Batum was initially set to come off the bench for the shorthanded 76ers but has replaced Buddy Hield in the starting five. Batum has started each of Philadelphia's last two games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 26.5 minutes.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Will come off bench Sunday

Batum isn't starting Sunday's game against the Spurs.

The 76ers will tweak their lineup for this matchup against San Antonio, and aside from being without Joel Embiid (knee) and Kyle Lowry (rest), Batum will also come off the bench. This means Paul Reed and Kelly Oubre will play in the frontcourt. Buddy Hield, Cameron Payne and Tyrese Maxey round out the rest of the lineup.
