Rockets' Jalen Green: Paces Houston in loss Monday

Green delivered 21 points (7-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and a block across 20 minutes in Monday's 122-113 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Head coach Ime Udoka attempted to give the potential starters a solid run of minutes in this preseason opener, and Green made the most of it while leading the team in scoring. His role as one of the Rockets' primary offensive threats is not in any danger after displaying tremendous growth in 2023-24, where he averaged 22.8 points per game since the All-Star break.
Green recorded 26 points (10-20 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds and one assist in 35 minutes during Friday's 116-107 victory over the Trail Blazers.
Green's shot heated back up after he shot a tepid 37.7 percent over his past eight games. His long-range shot also came back to life, as he converted his highest three-point total since drilling seven threes against Oklahoma City nine games ago.
