Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher will go into Thursday night's game at Green Bay without a regular practice during the week.

Urlacher's practice schedule will likely remain fluid for the season.

He will likely participate in Wednesday's walk-through, but Urlacher did not practice Tuesday. Coaches wanted to give his left knee an extra day of rest. The team did not practice Monday following its season-opening win over Indianapolis.

"Brian is on track," coach Lovie Smith said. "We have a plan for him. You've just got to trust the plan. The plan came through last week. Hopefully, it will this week."

The plan against the Colts had Urlacher play into the second half before Nick Roach moved from strong side linebacker to the middle to finish the game. Of course, the Bears led by 20 points by then.

This week will require a little different approach because of the quick turnaround. Still, Smith is confident Urlacher will be ready to go.

"He's in good shape," Smith said. "We don't feel like there's any issues that he's dealing with the knee. Brian is just like any of the other players as I see it right now -- short week, a little sore, but should be ready to go by game time."
