Darrelle Revis not confident Jets have put enough talent around Mark Sanchez

The Jets offense is one of the big question marks coming into the 2012 season. How can anyone really be sure that New York's put enough talent around Mark Sanchez to help him succeed? Well, Darrelle Revis was asked that question and he agrees that it's a major question mark.

One of the more (sigh) talked-about stories this offseason has been the Jets. Specifically, the Jets offense. And to really narrow it down, do the Jets have enough talent at the skill positions to succeed?

Cornerback Darrelle Revis was asked that very question by Kimberly Martin of Newsday recently (well, technically, he was asked if there was enough talent to turn Mark Sanchez into a top-10 quarterback) and didn't sound confident in the slightest.

"I don't know," Revis told Martin while shaking his head. "I don't know."

Ideally for the Jets offense, Sanchez would be surrounded by physical position receivers and have a powerful, move-the-chains back behind him. He doesn't have that in Santonio Holmes and Shonn Greene, much less does he have it in would-be wideout Antonio Cromartie.

You could argue that the Jets have been less than sage with their acquisitions on the offensive end. And Revis apparently wouldn't disagree with you.

"You've got to do what's best for the team, and I don't know if we've been wise in that department," Revis said.

Those are pretty strong words from the team's best player; no one's particularly concerned with the Jets defense, because Rex Ryan's got the reputation for always having a good defense, one that he'll tell you about.

But this squad's offense is just ... bad. There's a serious dearth of talent at the skill positions for the Jets and it's just difficult to figure out how exactly they're going to score points. Clearly, that's not just an external concern either, if Revis is willing to talk about it this openly with reporters.
