Lucas' knee issues forced him to miss 11 of 17 games last season. He needed offseason surgery and isn't quite 100 percent. There's been no indication Lucas is in danger of missing Week 1. He can be activated at any point during training camp.

The Seahawks are hopeful Lucas (knee) will be ready for training camp, Nick Lee of the team's official site reports.
Chronic knee issues limited Lucas to just six games in 2023 after he played 16 during his rookie campaign. The issues dated all the way back to his time at Washington State and ultimately were surgically repaired this offseason. Given the team's optimism regarding his chances to return for training camp, his odds of being ready for Week 1 are looking good at this point. The third-year pro projects to start at right tackle when healthy.

Lucas is working his way back from knee surgery that he underwent at the end of the 2023 regular season, so it's encouraging that there's no real concern from the Seahawks about his status for Week 1. The expectation will be for him to start at right tackle when healthy.

Seahawks' Abraham Lucas: Undergoes knee surgery
General manager John Schneider said Tuesday that Lucas underwent knee surgery following the 2023 season, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Lucas started 16 games as a rookie in 2022 but battled persistent knee issues last season and was limited to just six appearances. Based on Schneider's comments, Lucas seemingly had more of a cleanup procedure on his knee, and he should be ready well ahead of Week 1 of the 2024 season.

Seahawks' Abraham Lucas: Missing Week 18
Lucas (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Lucas logged three consecutive DNPs during Seattle's week of practice after exiting the team's Week 17 loss to the Steelers with a knee injury, so it's no surprise that he won't play Sunday. If Jason Peters (questionable, foot) is able to suit up in Week 18, he'll likely assume the Seahawks' starting right tackle duties. Otherwise, Stone Forsythe is expected to be the next man up.

Seahawks' Abraham Lucas: Expected to play Thursday
Lucas (knee) has officially been activated to the Seahawks' active roster ahead of Thursday night's game against the Cowboys, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Lucas has been on injured reserve since suffering a knee injury during Seattle's Week 1 loss to the Rams, and after a full week of practice, he's expected to start at right tackle Thursday night. Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Lucas "practiced really well," and the team is "counting on him to be able to help and contribute," in Week 13's contest. With Lucas likely back at right tackle, expect Jason Peters to now serve as a backup offensive lineman for Seattle.
