Jets' Xavier Newman: Practices in full Thursday
Newman (shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday's practice session.
Newman sustained a shoulder injury in the Jets' preseason finale against the Giants. He appears to have recovered from the injury and will be good to go for Monday's regular-season opener against San Francisco. Newman is slated as the backup center on the Jets' depth chart behind Joe Tippmann.

Jets' Xavier Newman: Won't return Saturday
Newman has been ruled out for the rest of Saturday's game against the Giants due to a shoulder injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Newman sustained the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game. He's competing for a depth spot on the Jets' offensive line, and the extent of his injury will likely factor into his chances of making the 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
