Wilson (5-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the Rangers, allowing three hits with no walks across six scoreless innings. He struck out four.
For the fourth time in his last six appearances, Wilson worked in bulk relief, taking the mound in the third inning after Hoby Milner opened the contest. Still, Wilson was able to complete six innings for the first time since May 6 as part of his best outing as a Brewer. The 26-year-old has been incredibly volatile across his last four appearances, yielding at least five runs twice but giving up no runs in the other pair of games. Overall, Wilson owns a 3.89 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP over 74.0 innings. While it's unclear if he'll follow an opener again, he's on track to pitch in Colorado early next week.

Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Following opener Tuesday

Wilson was scheduled to start Tuesday's contest but will instead follow a lefty opener. Wilson failed to retire five of the first seven batters he faced to open the contest, surrendering back-to-back homers to Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill in the first to put the Brewers in an early 4-1 hole. The right-hander would settle in over the next three frames before coughing up another long ball in the fifth. It was Wilson's first time this season in which he allowed multiple home runs in a start and he's given up at least five runs in two of his last three outings. He's also walked multiple batters in three consecutive starts.

Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Earns victory in bulk-relief role
Wilson (4-3) earned the win over Cincinnati on Saturday, pitching 5.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six batters.
Milwaukee opted to have Jared Koenig open the contest, and he notched two outs before Wilson entered with a runner on first base in the first inning. The right-hander closed that frame successfully, then kept the Reds off the scoreboard for five more innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Wilson's excellent outing earned him his first victory since May 24. After opening the campaign in the bullpen, Wilson has been bouncing between a traditional starting role and bulk relief lately, and in either capacity he's pitched pretty well, giving up three or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 17 appearances this season.

Wilson uncharacteristically got shelled Sunday, allowing more than three earned runs for the first time this season. The 26-year-old did not allow a home run for the first time since May 6, but Wilson has been struggling after a hot start to the season. Over his past six appearances, Wilson has allowed five or more hits in all of them, pitching to a 6.11 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP over 28 innings. Jared Koenig opened the game for Milwaukee, pitching one scoreless inning before giving way to Wilson in the second. Wilson surrendered a solo home run to David Dahl in the fourth inning, marking the fifth consecutive game in which the right-hander has allowed a home run. The 26-year-old has been consistent in minimizing the damage, however, allowing three earned runs or fewer in all of those starts. Wilson has worked behind Jared Koenig in two of his last three appearances, and it remains to be seen if he will start his next time out, tentatively scheduled for this weekend in Detroit.

Wilson is expected to be deployed as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Jared Koenig in Monday's game in Philadelphia, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Wilson started in his last turn through the rotation Wednesday against the Cubs, but he'll work behind Koenig for the second time in three outings after he previously followed the left-hander May 24 in Boston. In that game, Wilson struck out seven while giving up two runs across 5.1 innings en route to picking up the win, so he could still offer some value to fantasy managers Monday despite not operating as a traditional starter. Wilson tentatively lines up for two outings this week, with his second turn through the rotation set to come Sunday in Detroit.

Wilson (3-1) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 relief innings in a 7-2 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out seven.
Jared Koenig got the nod as the opener but recorded only two outs and put two runners aboard before Wilson entered the game. Wilson struck out Tyler O'Neill to end the rally, the first of a season-high seven Ks for the 26-year-old right-hander as he generated 28 called or swinging strikes among his 80 pitches. In six trips to the mound since taking the place of DL Hall (knee) in the rotation, Wilson has posted a 2.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 30.1 innings, but Friday's win was his first in that stretch. Hall has worked only one-inning stints to begin his rehab assignment, perhaps signaling that Wilson's spot is secure even when the Brewers' staff gets healthier. Wilson lines up to make his next trip to the mound at home next week against the Cubs.

Wilson was initially listed as the Brewers' starter, a role he's jumped into with Milwaukee's rotation hampered by injuries, but Jared Koenig is now beginning the game on the mound instead. Wilson was given a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but he was pulled after giving up a one-out solo homer to Jake Meyers and a two-out single to Jose Altuve. The hook eliminated the right-hander's chance to qualify for the win, and it marked the second straight outing in which he's failed to go five frames. Still, Wilson has given up a tolerable four runs across 8.2 innings during those two contests, and he's recorded a 2.79 ERA across 38.2 innings on the season.

Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Struggles with command
Wilson allowed two runs on five hits and five walks over four-plus innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out one in the loss to St. Louis.
Wilson walked home a run in the second inning but managed to hold the Cardinals to one run through four frames. He was knocked out of the contest after coughing up a home run to Paul Goldschmidt and a double to Alec Burleson to begin the fifth inning. Wilson has produced a shaky 16:13 K:BB over his last four starts but owns a 2.21 ERA during that span. He's produced a 2.65 ERA through 34 innings this season. Wilson's currently projected to start in Houston next weekend.
