Despite the feud last year between Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and receiver Santonio Holmes, the two this offseason publicly have vowed to make amends. So, Sanchez sent Holmes a love letter on Valentine’s Day, and Holmes refused to board the “Tim Tebow is awesome train” while saying he was “very happy” that Sanchez received a contract extension.

The obvious question is will the Jets locker room, with Sanchez and Holmes and Tebow sharing space inside, continue to be in disarray next season? Maybe, maybe not.

For now, though, it seems like Holmes and Sanchez are working out their differences by actually working out together in Florida.

That’s the word from the Newark Star Ledger, which reports that Holmes, Sanchez, tight end Dustin Keller and receiver Patrick Turner have been training in Orlando together this week. Holmes usually spends his offseasons working out in central Florida, and this year, Holmes personally invited Sanchez so the two could continue mending fences and building chemistry. The two also spent a few days with each other in Orlando earlier in the offseason to continue working on their personal relationship.

"I know for a fact Santonio Holmes and Mark Sanchez are close," Tom Shaw, Holmes’ longtime trainer, told the paper.

The foursome got together on Monday before they all head to New York for the team’s offseason sessions, and on Tuesday, the workout lasted five hours. As reporter Jenny Vrentas writes, “The Jets don't have their new playbooks from new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano yet, but Shaw said Sanchez was calling out routes and plays from his own notes.”

"Mark was in charge, everyone was listening to his instructions," Shaw said. "Guys from other teams, too. (Titans running back) Chris Johnson, Larry Taylor, who used to be with the Jets. Once we finished the workout for the day, Sanchez took over. He was in charge of the whole offensive part. He is working hard, and he's doing everything he can to get better."

And if that includes becoming BFFs with his former nemesis, so be it.
