Report: Peyton Manning to 'absolutely' play vs. Chiefs

The 37-year-old Manning will be ready to go when the Broncos face the Chiefs in the battle for the AFC West this Sunday, according to a report.

Peyton Manning took a big hit late in Sunday's game against the Chargers and afterwards he admitted that he was "pretty sore" and that he would get "an MRI tomorrow." Well, tomorrow is here and according to the Denver Post's Mike Klis, the 37-year-old Manning will be ready to go when the Broncosface the Chiefs in the battle for the AFC West this Sunday.

That's the good news. The bad news is that Manning has been without his Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady since mid-September. And while replacement Chris Clark has been good, Tourek Williams beat him for a strip-sack Sunday that set up a Chargers touchdown. And the Broncos only loss of the season, in Week 7 against the Colts, can be traced back to a Robert Mathis blindside sack that Manning never seemed to recover.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, have two of the best edge rushers in football in Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. 

Luckily, Manning's game isn't based on his elusiveness but his big brain. And by all accounts, he's still the NFL's best at putting his teammates in position to continually make big plays.
