Jamal Adams: Slated to be released
The Seahawks are in line to release Adams (knee), Brady Henderson of ESPN reports.
Per Henderson, Adams -- who is bouncing back from a late-season knee issue -- was set to make a non-guaranteed $16.5 million in 2024 and count $26.9 million against the Seahawks' salary cap. During the 2023 regular season, the 2017 first-rounder was limited to nine games while logging 48 tackles in that span. Also being let go by Seattle per the report will be Quandre Diggs, with the pair of looming moves poised to leave the team with a void at safety ahead of free agency.

Seahawks' Jamal Adams: More injury woes in 2023
Adams (knee) posted 48 tackles (34 solo) and two pass breakups across nine games during the 2023 regular season.
Adams has played just 34 games over four seasons with the Seahawks, including just 10 games over the last two years. The 29-year-old safety has been a consistent starter when healthy, typically stacking up high tackle counts despite showing some lapses in coverage. His current knee injury shouldn't keep him out to start the 2024 season. Adams is signed through the 2025 season, although his contract has outs in each of the next two seasons.

Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Heads to IR
The Seahawks placed Adams (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Adams had missed Seattle's last two games with this knee injury and he was already ruled out for the team's Week 17 affair, but it now seems as if this issue will force him to miss the remainder of the year unless the Seahawks advance deep into the playoffs. The 28-year-old has appeared in nine games for the Seahawks this season, tallying 48 total tackles, including seven tackles for loss. Julian Love is expected to see even more work in Seattle's secondary with Adams missing the team's last two regular-season games.
