  • Bruins' Derek Forbort: Won't play Saturday

Forbort (undisclosed) will be reevaluated after Game 1 against the Leafs on Saturday, Ty Anderson 98.5 The Sports Hub reports.

Forbort is currently with AHL Providence on a conditioning assignment and could be in the lineup against AHL Springfield on Friday. Barring any setbacks, the blueliner could link back up with Boston ahead of a Game 2 matchup, perhaps challenging Andrew Peeke for a spot in the lineup.

  • Bruins' Justin Brazeau: Still week-to-week

General manager Don Sweeney said Thursday that Brazeau (upper body) is still week-to-week and is unlikely to play at the start of the playoff series versus Toronto, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports.

Brazeau missed the last six games of the regular season after he was injured in Nashville on April 2. Brazeau finished the year with five goals and seven points in 19 games with the Bruins. Jakub Lauko replaced Brazeau on the third line and will likely be the odd-man out when Brazeau eventually returns to the lineup.

  • Bruins' Linus Ullmark: Downed by Sens

Ullmark stopped 17 of 19 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Senators, with Ottawa's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The veteran netminder didn't look particularly sharp on the two pucks that beat him in the second period, both of which came as he was moving to his right and got handcuffed by a quick shot. Ullmark finished the regular season having allowed three goals or less in eight of his last nine starts, going 6-3-0 with a 1.90 GAA and .935 save percentage, and he seems likely to be between the pipes when Boston begins a first-round playoff series against Toronto this weekend.

  • Bruins' Jayson Megna: Returned to minors

Megna was reassigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday.

Megna made his NHL season debut in Tuesday's regular-season finale, registering no significant stats in 11:45 of ice time. The Bruins will likely bring a player or two back up from the minors before Game 1 of the playoffs, though Megna is far from a lock due to John Beecher also being in contention.

  • Bruins' Linus Ullmark: Facing Ottawa

Ullmark will protect the home net Tuesday against the Senators, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Ullmark has stopped 87 of 93 shots during his three-game winning streak. He has a 22-9-7 record this season with a 2.59 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 39 appearances. Ottawa ranks 20th in the league this campaign with 3.05 goals per contest.

  • Bruins' Brandon Carlo: Unavailable Tuesday

Carlo (undisclosed) won't play in Tuesday's regular-season finale against Ottawa, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports.

Carlo is expected to be back in the lineup for Boston's playoff opener after being injured in Monday's 2-0 loss to Washington. He will conclude the regular season with four goals, 14 points, 79 shots on net, 140 blocked shots and 140 hits in 76 appearances. Matt Grzelcyk is slated to replace Carlo versus the Senators.

  • Bruins' Jayson Megna: Recalled from AHL Providence

Megna was recalled from the minors Tuesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Megna hasn't seen any NHL action this season, but he's been rock solid in the AHL. The 34-year-old has registered 18 goals and 33 assists in 67 games played at the AHL level. If he sees any playoff action with Boston, it will likely be in a bottom-six forward role.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Returned to AHL affiliate

Beecher was reassigned to AHL Providence on Tuesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Beecher will switch spots with Jayson Megna, who was recalled in a corresponding move. This may be a temporary change -- it wouldn't be surprising to see Beecher, who's picked up 10 points and 112 hits through 52 top-level contests this season, back with the Bruins for the playoffs.

  • Bruins' Derek Forbort: Loaned to AHL Providence

Forbort (undisclosed) was sent to AHL Providence on an LTI conditioning loan Tuesday.

Forbort has been sent down to the AHL in hopes of establishing that he's fully healthy and ready to suit up for Boston in the playoffs. The 32-year-old has registered four assists and 22 shots on goal in 35 top-level contests this season. He might end up serving primarily on the third pairing if he is available for the NHL playoffs and could even end up spending some time as a healthy scratch.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Falls to Capitals

Swayman stopped 23 of 24 shots in Monday's 2-0 loss to Washington.

Swayman was excellent Monday, holding the Caps to a John Carlson goal in the first period. However, the Bruins could generate only 16 shots on offense in an eventual 2-0 shutout loss. The 25-year-old netminder has dropped consecutive starts after winning three of his prior four outings. With Linus Ullmark likely to start in Boston's season finale Tuesday, Swayman is poised to wrap up the regular season at 25-10-8 with a .916 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Between pipes versus Caps

Swayman will tend the twine on the road against Washington on Monday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

Swayman will try to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Hurricanes last time out in which he gave up four goals on 26 shots. Given the Bruins' goalie rotation and the back-to-back schedule, Linus Ullmark figures to get the nod in Tuesday's home game versus Ottawa, which is Boston's regular-season finale.

  • Bruins' Andrew Peeke: Garners assist in win

Peeke notched an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Penguins.

Peeke has two helpers over 13 games as a member of the Bruins. He's gone plus-3 with 38 hits and 29 blocked shots in that span while playing regularly on the third pairing, leaving Kevin Shattenkirk and Parker Wotherspoon to compete for one spot in the lineup. Peeke has 10 points, 35 shots on net, 82 hits, 76 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 36 contests between the Bruins and the Blue Jackets this season.

  • Bruins' Matt Grzelcyk: Sends helper

Grzelcyk notched an assist and three blocked shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Penguins.

Grzelcyk had gone five games without a point entering Saturday. The defenseman has had a rough year on offense, with just 11 points through 62 outings overall. He's added 76 blocked shots, 51 hits, 57 shots on net, 37 PIM and a plus-14 rating while serving consistently in a bottom-four role when healthy.

  • Bruins' Jakub Lauko: Finds helper Saturday

Lauko notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Penguins.

Lauko set up Morgan Geekie's goal in the third period, which was the game-winner. After a 14-game pointless drought, Lauko has earned a helper in each of the last two games. The 24-year-old forward is up to 10 points, 39 shots on net, 169 hits, 32 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 58 outings in a fourth-line role.

  • Bruins' Trent Frederic: Slides helper in win

Frederic notched an assist and four hits in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Penguins.

Frederic snapped a six-game point drought when he helped out on a Morgan Geekie tally in the third period. The 26-year-old Frederic hasn't found quite as much success on offense in the second half of the campaign. His strong first half has still helped him to a career year of 40 points, 119 shots on net, 195 hits, 67 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 80 appearances.
