  • Marlins' Tanner Scott: Grabs first win

Scott (1-4) earned the win Tuesday over Colorado, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk in one inning. He struck out two.

Scott allowed the free runner to score in the top of the 10th inning on a two-out Ryan McMahon double before ultimately striking out Hunter Goodman to end the frame. The Marlins would then score twice in the bottom half, completing the comeback victory and giving Scott his first win this year. The left-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in his last six appearances -- he's 4-for-5 in save chances this year with a 2.84 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 12:13 K:BB across 12.2 innings.

  • Marlins' Tanner Scott: Notches fourth save

Scott struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Sunday to record his fourth save of the season in a win over the Cubs.

The southpaw reined in his control issues for at least one appearance, firing eight of 11 pitches for strikes as he carved up the top of the Cubs' order. Scott's 3.38 ERA through 10.2 innings masks his struggles -- he has a 10:12 K:BB and an 0-3 record, although he's converted four of five save chances. With most of the rest of the Marlins' bullpen also off to shaky starts to the season, Scott is being given every opportunity to turn things around, and as yet a change at closer for Miami doesn't seem to be in the works.

  • Marlins' Tanner Scott: Picks up save No. 3

Scott earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning during Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs. He struck out one and allowed two hits and no walks.

Bryan De La Cruz's two-run homer in the top of the ninth gave Miami a 3-2 lead, and Scott closed out the bottom of the frame to finish off the comeback despite giving up singles to the first two batters he faced. The Marlins closer has struggled with his command early in the season, as Saturday's outing was just his third time in nine appearances without issuing a walk. Scott is 3-for-4 in save opportunities and has a 3.72 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 9:12 K:BB across 9.2 innings.

  • Marlins' Tanner Scott: Locks down second save

Scott earned the save Tuesday against the Giants, working around a pair of walks while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Scott didn't make things easy on himself, issuing a pair of one-out walks before striking out Thairo Estrada and inducing a game-ending pop fly from Wilmer Flores to grab his second save of the year. It was ultimately a nice bounce-back outing from Scott after the left-hander allowed three runs while blowing a save against Atlanta in his last appearance Sunday. Overall, Scott is 0-3 with a 4.15 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and an alarming 25.6 percent walk rate through his first 8.2 innings this year. While the left-hander remains the top closing option in Miami, Scott hasn't seen many save chances with the Marlins struggling out of the gate.

  • Marlins' Tanner Scott: Blows first save

Scott (0-3) took the loss Sunday and blew his first save of the season, giving up three runs on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning against Atlanta. He struck out one.

Called upon to protect a 7-6 lead, Scott instead served up a massive three-run homer to center field by Marcell Ozuna. It's been a brutal start to the season for the left-handed closer, and he's saddled with a 4.70 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and ghastly 7:10 K:BB through 7.2 innings. Scott's job security might be hanging by a thread, and potentially the only thing keeping him in the ninth right now for the Marlins is that no one else in the bullpen has pitched particularly well either.
