Predators' Juuse Saros: Preseason matchup canceled
Saros and the Predators will not travel to face the Lightning after Monday's preseason game was canceled due to Hurricane Milton.
Saros wasn't expected to feature in this contest to begin with, as it was a scheduled final tune-up for Scott Wedgewood. With the game canceled, the veteran Saros will look to Thursday's Opening Night matchup with Dallas. Even with a steady backup in Wedgewood, Saros could still be among the league leaders in games played this season, making him an elite fantasy target.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting against Carolina
Saros will patrol the home crease in Saturday's preseason contest against Carolina, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.
Saros posted a 35-24-5 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 64 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. He will likely be among the busiest goaltenders again in 2024-25 since new backup Scott Wedgewood isn't a threat to steal many starts.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Perfect in final tuneup
Saros turned aside all 12 shots he faced during Saturday's preseason loss to the Hurricanes.
In Nashville's final preseason game, Saros was on the ice for just the first period before being replaced by Scott Wedgewood. Saros has played at least 64 regular-season games and collected at least 33 wins in each of the last three seasons, delivering a 2.73 GAA and .915 save percentage over that stretch. With an eight-year contract extension in his pocket, the 29-year-old netminder should be plenty busy again in 2024-25.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine versus Lightning
Saros will protect the home goal in Saturday's preseason game versus the Lightning, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports.
Saros will make his preseason debut Saturday. The 29-year-old goalie signed an eight-year extension with the Predators this summer, cementing his place as the team's top netminder. He should once again be a workhorse in 2024-25 -- he has played no fewer than 64 games in each of the last three regular seasons.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Signing eight-year extension
Saros agreed to terms on an eight-year, $61.92 million contract with Nashville, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports Friday.
Saros technically can't put pen to paper until the new league year opens Monday, but it seems the two sides have already worked out the details of a max-term deal for the netminder. At 29 years of age, and with one season remaining on his current contract, this deal essentially will tie Saros to the Predators for the remainder of his career -- barring a future trade. Considering the Finn has hit the 60-game threshold and 30-win mark in each of his last three seasons, fantasy players can likely expect more of the same heading into the 2024-25 campaign and beyond.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Comes up short in Game 6
Saros stopped 28 of 29 shots in Friday's 1-0 loss to the Canucks in Game 6.
Saros was excellent, going save for save with Arturs Silovs for nearly the whole game. Pius Suter had the breakthrough for the Canucks with 1:39 left in the third period, and that goal was the one to end the Predators' season. Despite a 2-4 record in the playoffs, Saros allowed just 12 goals on 120 shots over six contests, with Friday marking the first time he'd faced more than 21 shots in a game all series. The Finnish goalie is under contract for one more season at a $5 million cap hit, so it's possible his name could swirl in trade rumors if the Predators opt to shake things up.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine Friday
Saros will face the Canucks at home for Game 6 on Friday.
Saros turned away 19 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 Game 5 win to force Game 6. Through five games this series, he's allowed only 11 goals but it's come with a lackluster .879 save percentage. To avoid elimination, Saros will need to earn consecutive wins for the first time since April 4 and 7.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Keeps season alive
Saros stopped 19 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Canucks in Game 5.
It was another low-event game, and Saros did his part this time to keep the Predators' season alive. He gave up just one goal to Nikita Zadorov in the third period. Saros has allowed 11 goals on 91 shots through five playoff outings -- those aren't great numbers, but he's done enough to keep most of the games close so far. The 29-year-old is almost guaranteed to get the nod again in Friday's Game 6.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Falters late in Game 4
Saros stopped 16 of 20 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks in Game 4.
The Canucks again failed to direct much traffic at Saros, but he took a loss for the third time in four games in the first round. The 29-year-old couldn't maintain a 3-1 lead late in the third period as Brock Boeser scored twice in the final three minutes to force overtime, where Elias Lindholm completed Vancouver's comeback. Saros has allowed 10 goals on 70 shots through four games in this series, and he'll now be in must-win mode beginning with Tuesday's Game 5 in Vancouver.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Takes loss despite light workload
Saros permitted two goals on 12 shots in the 2-1 loss to the Canucks on Friday in Game 3.
Nashville put up 30 shots to dominate possession in the attacking zone, but Saros ended up with the loss after the Canucks converted on two of three power-play opportunities. Saros didn't carry over any momentum from his 17-save performance in Nashville's 4-1 victory over Vancouver in Game 2 on Tuesday. Now faced with a 2-1 series deficit, Saros will look to shake off the most recent loss in time for a pivotal Game 4 matchup on Sunday.

Saros was solid when called upon, but the Predators were also credited with 30 blocked shots to make his job easier. He's allowed four goals on 38 shots over two playoff contests so far. Saros will likely continue to see most, if not all, of the starts during the postseason, and he's likely to get more goal support while Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) is out of action for the Canucks. Game 3 is set for Friday in Nashville.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine in Game 2
Saros will guard the road goal versus the Canucks on Tuesday in Game 2, Zach Gilchriest of the Predators' official site reports.
Saros will look to overcome his Game 1 loss, in which he allowed three goals on 20 shots, including a pair of tallies in a 12-second span in the third period. The 29-year-old has lost all three of his games versus the Canucks this season, allowing a total of 11 goals. His Predators teammates may find more room for offense Tuesday with Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) out and Casey DeSmith slated to start for Vancouver.
