Clarke made his NHL debut with the Devils last season, logging three NHL games in which he notched six hits, two shots and zero points. While the 23-year-old winger didn't contribute much offensively at the NHL level, he did produce in the minors with 49 points in 67 outings with AHL Utica. Kumpulainen will spend the next two seasons on loan with the Lahden Pelicans in Finland.
Kumpulainen spent last year playing for OHL Oshawa, racking up 28 goals and 28 assists in 58 contests. Selected by the Wild with the 53rd overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the 18-year-old center shouldn't be expected to make his NHL debut until the 2026-27 season, though he could certainly be recalled from his loan stay prior to its two-year expiration.

Wild's Declan Chisholm: Pens one-year pact
Chisholm signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Minnesota on Saturday, according to PuckPedia.
Chisholm contributed three goals, six assists, 29 shots on net and 38 blocked shots across 31 regular-season appearances between the Wild and Jets in 2023-24. The 24-year-old defender should be able to claim a bottom-pairing role with Minnesota going into the 2024-25 campaign.

Wild's Brendan Gaunce: Makes two-year commitment

Gaunce had two goals and four points in 24 outings with Columbus in 2023-24. He also recorded 19 goals and 39 points in 46 regular-season appearances with AHL Cleveland. The 30-year-old will probably start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, but Gaunce is likely to spend portions of the season with Minnesota as an injury replacement.

Cecconi has played exclusively in the minors since graduating from the University of Michigan back in 2019. Selected by the Stars in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old blueliner was never able to convince the organization to give him a shot. Given his lack of NHL experience, another year in the AHL is the most likely result for Cecconi in 2024-25.

Johnson had two goals, five points, 40 PIM and 109 hits in 42 contests with Chicago in 2023-24. Provided he's healthy, the 25-year-old should be in the mix for a bottom-six spot with Minnesota out of training camp.

Shore has played in 443 NHL games over the course of his nine-year NHL career, so he should at least get a look during training camp. Still, the fact that the Wild weren't willing to offer the 29-year-old center a one-way contract should be telling regarding their plans for him. Even when he has played in the NHL, Shore's usage has been minimal -- he's logged less than 10 minutes per game in each of the last three seasons.

Jones had 21 goals, 43 points and 59 PIM in 72 regular-season contests with AHL Calgary in 2023-24. The 25-year-old has appeared in two career NHL games, recording no points, two PIM and four hits over those outings.

Middleton has one more season left on his three-year, $7.35 million deal. He accounted for seven goals, 25 points, 85 shots on net, 77 PIM, 161 blocked shots and 147 hits over 80 regular-season contests in 2023-24. Middleton will likely continue to see top-pairing minutes for the Wild in the upcoming campaign.

Crotty signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Wild on Monday.
Crotty made his NHL debut for the Coyotes last season, logging 10:03 of ice time in a 4-2 win over Dallas on March 24. The 25-year-old blueliner didn't record a point but dished out four hits to go with two blocked shots. Crotty doesn't have much offense, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't bother tracking whether he is playing in the AHL or NHL next season.

Wild's Travis Boyd: Signs two-way deal
Boyd (pectoral) penned a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Monday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Boyd played in just 16 games for the Coyotes last season in which he tallied two goals, six assists and 12 shots on net while averaging a mere 9:37 of ice time. Based on his two-way deal, it seems the Wild may view Boyd as more of a veteran presence for their minor-league club -- though he does have a pair of 30-point seasons under his belt. How healthy Boyd is come training camp will likely determine whether he makes the Opening Night roster, and he's unlikely to see more than a bottom-six role.

Wild's Yakov Trenin: Inks four-year deal
Trenin (upper body) signed a four-year, $14 million contract with the Wild on Monday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Trenin had 12 goals, 17 points, 40 PIM and 207 hits in 76 regular-season contests between Nashville and Colorado in 2023-24. He missed the Avalanche's final playoff contest due to an upper-body injury, but the 27-year-old might be fine for the start of the 2024-25 campaign. Trenin will likely serve in a bottom-six capacity with Minnesota.

Wild's Aron Kiviharju: Slide finally ends in Round 4
Kiviharju was the 122nd overall pick by the Wild in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Once viewed as one of the top players in the entire draft class, Kiviharju was limited to just seven games by a knee injury this past season. The lone bit of good news is that he had been talked about as a potential future top prospect for so long that scouts got plenty of looks at him in the past. Kiviharju thinks the game extremely well. He's shifty and creative with the puck and an excellent outlet passer. Prospects with this type of hockey IQ typically "make it" in some form or fashion, but on top of the injury concerns, Kiviharju is both slight (5-foot-9) and undersized (175 pounds). It's an intriguing skill set, and Kiviharju has legitimate upside, but it's difficult to say with any certainty at this point what can be expected from him moving forward.

Wild's Jakub Lauko: Becomes Wild man in Draft Day trade
Lauko has been traded to Minnesota from Boston in exchange for Vinni Lettieri, reports TSN.ca. The teams also exchanged 2024 fourth round picks.
The 24-year-old Lauko spent 60 regular-season games with Boston in 2023-24, delivering two goals and eight assists along with 32 PIM. He got into two fights last season, both against the Wild. Lauko will vie for a bottom-six role in the land of lakes.

Wild's Ryder Ritchie: Uber-talented forward joins Wild
Ritchie was the 45th overall pick by the Wild in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
NHL clubs should be prioritizing skill at this stage of the draft, and Ritchie brings plenty of that to the table. His draft stock suffered because he missed a good chunk of the year due to injury and played for a mediocre Prince Albert (WHL) team. Ultimately, Ritchie needs to learn to trust his teammates a bit more and give his best on a more consistent basis. Still, it's rare to find a prospect with this type of individual skill at this point of the draft, so it's a worthwhile gamble for the Wild.

Wild's Zeev Buium: Minny moves up to get possible star
Buium was the 12th overall pick by the Wild in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Buium (pronounced Boo-y-YUM) was the NCHC's top rookie after a 50-point season with Denver -- it was the first 50-pointer by a rookie NCAA defender since at least 2002-03. He earned Frozen Four all-tourney honors after helping lead Denver to the national title. At 18 years old, Buium has game-breaking skills thanks to his elusive skating, elite skills and high-end hockey smarts. He uses those skills in the D-zone to angle guys out and strip pucks, a bit like Morgan Rielly does in Toronto. Buium isn't big, but that won't hold him back. He'll be a dynamic All-Star who will run the power play and wear an A while giving you loads of points. Buium and Brock Faber are going to be a formidable duo for 12-15 years.

Clarke made his NHL debut with the Devils on Jan. 6 and managed to play in three top-level games before he was returned to AHL Utica. Clarke finished with 25 goals and 49 points in 67 regular-season games with Utica last season. He'll likely once again spend most of his time in the minors in 2024-25.
