Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Return timeline improves
Sennecke (foot) is no longer using a walking boot and may be able to return in 2-4 weeks, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News on Thursday.
Lee reports Sennecke may be an option in the Ducks' later preseason games. The Ducks play Utah on Oct. 2 and face the Sharks on Oct. 4 for their last two preseason contests. While it's encouraging Sennecke is healing faster than the initial 6-8 week timeline, he's still unlikely to be an NHL option in 2024-25.

Ducks' Boris Katchouk: Gets tryout chance with Anaheim
Katchouk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Ducks on Wednesday, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.
Katchouk split last year between the Blackhawks and the Senators, collecting 13 points, 70 shots on net and 82 hits over 59 contests. The 26-year-old has spent the bulk of the last three years in the NHL, though the Ducks are unlikely to sign him if it would mean blocking a prospect from moving up. If Katchouk spends 2024-25 with Anaheim, he'll likely play on the fourth line.

Ducks' Mark Pysyk: Pens PTO with Ducks
Pysyk signed a professional tryout agreement with Anaheim on Thursday, according to Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now.
Pysyk last played in the NHL during the 2021-22 season, when he had three goals, nine assists and 85 blocked shots in 68 regular-season games. Pysyk played 37 AHL games last season, picking up four assists. He is a long shot to make the Ducks' lineup and likely will play once again in the AHL.

Ducks' Gustav Lindstrom: Signs PTO with Ducks
Lindstrom penned a professional tryout agreement with Anaheim on Thursday, Keith Allen of Detroit Hockey Now reports.
Lindstrom was not qualified by the Ducks in June and comes back on a tryout basis. Lindstrom had three goals and 10 points in 46 regular-season games last season, split between Anaheim and Montreal. He will battle for the seventh spot on the blue line in training camp.

Ducks' Tomas Suchanek: Undergoes knee surgery
Suchanek has undergone surgery for a ruptured ACL and is expected to need 6-8 months to recover, the team announced Thursday.
Suchanek had a 2.92 GAA and a .910 save percentage in 29 contests with AHL San Diego in 2023-24. The 21-year-old was unlikely to play for the Ducks this season, but this injury will impact the franchise's organizational depth. Given the timetable, a best-case scenario would involve Suchanek returning before the end of the campaign.

Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Suffers foot fracture
Sennecke suffered a foot fracture during his offseason training and will be sidelined 6-8 weeks.
Sennecke was taken third overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He was going to face an uphill battle for an NHL roster spot in training camp prior to the injury, but this news guarantees he'll begin the year in the junior ranks. Sennecke's timeline puts his expected return date in the second half of October, and there's a chance he'll begin 2024-25 on the season-opening injured reserve list.

Ducks' Oscar Dansk: Signs with Ducks
Dansk penned a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks on Thursday.
Dansk spent the 2023-24 season with AHL Calgary, going 11-12-3 with a 3.22 GAA and an .897 save percentage in 27 appearances. The 30-year-old has played in six NHL games spread over three seasons with the Golden Knights, going 4-1-0. He will provide some depth in the system as the third goaltender behind John Gibson and Lukas Dostal.

Ducks' Tristan Luneau: Set for Rookie Faceoff
Luneau (knee) is expected to participate in the Rookie Faceoff from Sept. 12-16.
Luneau had one goal and two assists in seven regular-season appearances with the Ducks in 2023-24. However, he didn't return to the ice after being diagnosed with a knee infection shortly after being loaned to Canada for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. Luneau will get a chance to get back on track in the Rookie Faceoff before attending training camp with the Ducks. He could start the 2024-25 campaign with AHL San Diego if he doesn't land a spot on the NHL roster.

Ducks' Nikita Nesterenko: Lands two-way deal
Nesterenko signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim on Monday.
According to Eric Stephens of The Athletic, Nesterenko can earn $874,125 if he plays in the NHL during the upcoming campaign. The 22-year-old Nesterenko registered 16 goals and 37 points in 70 regular-season outings for AHL San Diego in 2023-24. He also had one goal, seven shots on net and seven hits in three NHL outings with Anaheim. Nesterenko will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

LaCombe signed a two-year, $1.85 million contract with Anaheim on Monday.
LaCombe accounted for two goals, 17 points, 55 shots on net, 129 blocked shots and 50 hits in 71 regular-season contests with the Ducks in 2023-24. His roster spot isn't a certainty for the upcoming campaign, but he will be in the mix for a depth position on the blue line during training camp.

Ducks' Pavol Regenda: Inks two-way contract
Regenda signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Ducks on Friday.
Regenda didn't earn a point in five appearances with the Ducks in 2023-24. However, he produced 19 goals and 34 points in 54 regular-season games with AHL San Diego. The 24-year-old winger will likely compete for a bottom-six role with Anaheim in training camp.

Ducks' Stian Solberg: Lands ELC
Solberg signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Ducks on Friday.
Solberg was selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old blueliner has already made a name for himself with his physicality, but the offensive abilities appear to be limited for now. Solberg will likely continue his development in Europe during the 2024-25 campaign.

Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Secures ELC
Sennecke signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ducks on Friday.
Sennecke was selected with the third pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He was a late riser on most draft boards as he's beginning to grow into his 6-foot-3 frame. He's seen as a bit more of a raw prospect, but the quick entry-level signing could mean the Ducks intend to expedite his journey through the system.

Ducks' Robby Fabbri: Dealt to Anaheim
Fabbri and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2025 were traded from the Red Wings to the Ducks on Wednesday in exchange for Gage Alexander.
Fabbri enjoyed relatively good health in 2023-24, posting 32 points in 68 contests. The 28-year-old will still end up as a cap casualty for the Red Wings, as they moved his $4 million cap hit to Anaheim to clear space after signing Vladimir Tarasenko at a $4.5 million cap hit. Fabbri should contend for a middle-six role and power-play time with the Ducks.

Ducks' Carson Meyer: Inks two-way contract
Meyer (upper body) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks on Wednesday.
Meyer had a goal and an assist in 14 contests with Columbus in 2023-24. He also recorded 22 goals and 37 points across 55 regular-season outings with AHL Cleveland. Meyer sustained an injury April 9 that prevented him from participating in Cleveland's playoff run. Assuming the 26-year-old is healthy, he'll likely start next season in the minors, but he has a real shot of getting promoted at various points during the campaign as an injury replacement.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Joining Anaheim
Harkins signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract with the Ducks on Tuesday.
Harkins got into 45 games with the Penguins last year, but he was limited to four assists without scoring a goal on 37 shots. He also had 74 hits, offering modest physicality. He'll likely be ticketed for a bottom-six role with the Ducks, as the team should be able to fill out its top six with a mix of young and veteran talent.

Ducks' Brian Dumoulin: Swapped for fourth-round pick
Dumoulin was traded to the Ducks from the Kraken on Tuesday in a swap for a 2026 fourth-round selection.
Dumoulin apparently has found himself as the odd man out after the Kraken signed Brandon Montour to a seven-year deal Monday. After spending his first 10 seasons with the Penguins, the veteran blueliner will now be on this third team in as many seasons after spending just one year in Seattle. While Dumoulin has reached the 20-point threshold twice in his career, that is certainly not the norm for the blueliner, who is more likely to offer between 15-20 points per season.

Ducks' Brett Leason: Back in SoCal
Leason signed a one-year, $1.05 million deal with Anaheim on Monday.
Leason pocketed 11 goals and 22 points through 68 games with the Ducks last season. The 25-year-old winger should see bottom-six minutes again during the 2024-25 campaign.

Ducks' Urho Vaakanainen: Staying with Anaheim
Vaakanainen signed a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Ducks on Monday.
Vaakanainen scored 14 points in 68 games with the Ducks last season and did not receive a qualifying offer before hitting free agency. The 25-year-old should fill a bottom-four role during the 2024-25 campaign.
