  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Logs power-play helper

Nugent-Hopkins posted a power-play assist, three shots on goal and four PIM in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Nugent-Hopkins has eight helpers over his last five games, but he hasn't scored a goal since the postseason opener. The 31-year-old centered the second line Friday with Leon Draisaitl moving up to the top line to play alongside Connor McDavid. Nugent-Hopkins has experience as a center, but it's better for his overall game when he's playing alongside McDavid or Draisaitl. Nugent-Hopkins is up to nine points, 10 shots on net, 12 hits and an even plus-minus rating through seven playoff outings.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Adds helper in win

Hyman logged an assist, four shots on goal, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Hyman helped out on Connor McDavid's equalizer in the third period. The 31-year-old Hyman has been held off the scoresheet just once in seven playoff outings, earning nine goals, two assists, 28 shots on net, 23 hits and a plus-5 rating. He was overshadowed a bit with McDavid and Leon Draisaitl joining forces on the top line, but Hyman has had no trouble carving out offense regardless of who is on McDavid's opposite wing this season.

  • Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Tallies in Game 2

Ekholm scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Ekholm was limited to one assist over five first-round games versus the Kings, but he's now scored a goal in each of the first two contests in the second round. The 33-year-old defenseman doesn't have to put up offense to be useful, but it doesn't hurt. He's contributed 12 shots on net, 12 blocked shots, nine hits and a plus-4 rating in addition to three points through seven playoff outings. Ekholm should continue to see heavy defensive minutes in a top-pairing role.

  • Oilers' Evan Bouchard: Seals win in overtime

Bouchard scored a goal on five shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Bouchard tallied at 5:38 of the extra session to give the Oilers the win after they never led in regulation. The defenseman continues to excel in the postseason with two goals and nine assists through seven appearances. He's added 24 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating while playing on the top pairing.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Fills stat sheet Friday

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished three assists, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Not bad for a guy who was considered a game-time decision after dealing with cramping issues in Wednesday's Game 1 and skipping practice Thursday. Draisaitl was involved in all of the Oilers' goals, including scoring their first one of the game. He was listed on the first line with Connor McDavid rather than centering his own line, though both players shared faceoff duties. Draisaitl is up to six goals, 10 assists, 30 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through seven playoff outings, and he's yet to be held off the scoresheet this postseason.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Four points in overtime win

McDavid scored a goal on five shots, added three assists, logged three hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

McDavid's goal in the third period forced overtime, and he had a helper on the other three goals the Oilers scored in a back-and-forth game. The 27-year-old's exceptional playmaking has continued into the playoffs -- he has two goals and 15 assists through seven postseason appearances. McDavid has added 19 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-4 rating. He could be poised for even stronger offense than usual if head coach Kris Knoblauch keeps McDavid and Leon Draisaitl together moving forward.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Wins Game 2 in overtime

Skinner stopped 16 of 19 shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks in Game 2.

Skinner had another poor outing, but the Oilers' dynamic duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl made up for it with four points each. Over the last three games, Skinner has allowed 11 goals on 64 shots, but he's managed to win two of those contests. The Oilers managed to break the Canucks' home-ice advantage -- the series is tied at 1-1 heading back to Edmonton for Game 3 on Sunday and Game 4 on Tuesday.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine Friday

Skinner will get the starting nod for Game 2 in Vancouver on Friday, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Skinner has been shaky this postseason and was rocked for five goals on just 24 shots in a loss to the Canucks in Game 1 on Wednesday. Through six playoff games, he's registered an .893 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. On the bright side, Skinner hasn't taken consecutive losses since Feb. 21 and 24.

  • Oilers' Adam Henrique: Back in action

Henrique (lower body) is in Friday's lineup for Game 2 against Vancouver, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Henrique will return to the lineup after missing Game 1 against the Canucks with a lower-body issue. He tallied two points in Game 1 against the Kings last round but hasn't scored a point in four games since. Henrique is expected to skate in a top-six role Friday.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Expected to play Friday

Draisaitl (undisclosed) is warming up and is expected to suit up against the Canucks for Game 2 on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Draisaitl missed a morning skate after dealing with cramping issues during Wednesday's Game 1 loss. Fortunately for Edmonton, he shouldn't miss any additional time. The star forward has five goals and 12 points through six games this postseason. Draisaitl tallied two assists in Game 1 against Vancouver.

  • Oilers' Adam Henrique: Remains day-to-day

Henrique (lower body) is questionable for Game 2 against Vancouver on Friday, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic on Thursday.

Henrique was described as "day-to-day" by coach Kris Knoblauch. The 34-year-old missed Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Vancouver due to the injury. He has a goal and two points in five playoff outings this year. Leon Draisaitl's (undisclosed) status for Friday's contest is also in question, so if Henrique is available, but Draisaitl isn't, then Henrique might slide into the second-line center slot. Connor Brown will likely play if at least one of those two players is out, but he will probably be a healthy scratch if Henrique and Draisaitl are both able to play.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Questionable for Game 2

Draisaitl (undisclosed) is day-to-day and questionable for Game 2 against Vancouver on Friday, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports Thursday.

Draisaitl dealt with a cramping issue during the second period of Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks, though he was able to return in the third frame. However, the 28-year-old forward then missed Thursday's morning skate, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV. Draisaitl's value to the Oilers can't be overstated. He has five goals and 12 points through six playoff outings. If he's unable to play and Adam Henrique (lower body) returns after missing Game 1, then perhaps Henrique will serve as Edmonton's second-line center. However, if neither forward is available, then Ryan McLeod might be moved into that top-six role.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Grabs two helpers

Draisaitl recorded a pair of assists in Wednesday's 5-4 Game 1 loss to Vancouver. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Draisaitl was dealing with cramps in the second period before returning in the third.

Draisaitl managed just 16:43 of ice time due to his cramping issue, his lowest total during a game this postseason. Still, the world-class center has registered at least a point in all six playoff contests, racking up a combined five goals and seven helpers, including eight power-play points.

  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Picks up two assists in Game 1

Nugent-Hopkins registered two assists in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Vancouver in Game 1.

Nugent-Hopkins earned his third multi-point showing in the span of four contests. He's up to a goal and eight points in six playoff appearances this year. Nugent-Hopkins should continue to serve in a top-six capacity and on the Oilers' first power-play unit. His position with the man advantage is of particular importance to his production -- four of his eight points in the postseason have been recorded on the power play, including one of his assists in the series opener versus the Canucks.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Scores twice in Game 1

Hyman scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks in Game 1.

Hyman opened the scoring with a power-play marker 2:11 into the first period before extending Edmonton's lead to 4-1 with another tally in the second, sliding a wrister under the pad of Arturs Silovs. Hyman's picked up where he left off in the regular season -- he's scored at least one goal in five of his six playoff games this year, totaling nine goals and 10 points over that stretch.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Stumbles late in Game 1

Skinner allowed five goals on 24 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks in Game 1.

Skinner held Vancouver to one goal through most of the first two periods before Elias Lindholm cut the lead to 4-2 late in the second. Skinner then allowed three more tallies in the third in the eventual one-goal defeat. The 25-year-old Skinner has been shaky at times this postseason -- he's posted an .893 save percentage through his first six playoff games. Nonetheless, Skinner will likely remain between the pipes for the Oilers in Game 2 on Friday.
