Islanders' Semyon Varlamov: Gives up two early goals
Varlamov allowed two goals on 22 shots in Friday's 5-2 preseason win over the Rangers.

However, he settled down after giving up two first-period goals and looked solid the rest of the way. The Russian netminder could be in line to start Opening Night at home versus Utah on Oct. 10 since Ilya Sorokin (back) has not seen any preseason action yet.
