Jaguars' Daniel Thomas: Won't play Sunday
Thomas (Achilles) has been ruled for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Dolphins, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Thomas sustained an Achilles injury in mid-August, and while he was able to log three straight limited practices leading up to Week 1, he'll be held out for Sunday's contest. With fellow safeties Andrew Wingard (knee) and Tashaun Gipson (suspension) also out, Terrell Edmunds will serve as the primary backup behind starters Andre Cisco and Darnell Savage.

Thomas' availability Sunday is now in jeopardy after logging a limited week of practice due to an Achilles injury. Jacksonville could be thin at safety in Week 1 if Thomas is unable to suit up, as the team is already without Tashaun Gipson (suspension) and Andrew Wingard (knee).

Jaguars' Foye Oluokun: Clear of hamstring injury
Oluokun (hamstring) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Oluokun picked up a hamstring injury during preseason action mid-August, but he's fully healthy heading into a Week 1 matchup against the Dolphins on Sunday. The veteran linebacker hasn't missed a regular-season game in the past three years and is averaging 183 total tackles a campaign in that span, making him a premier IDP option as long as he's suiting up.

Thomas (Achilles) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
The fifth-year safety out of Auburn has been dealing with this Achilles issue for the last three weeks, but it appears he could be nearing a full return to the field after Wednesday's limited practice session. Once Thomas is past his injury, he's expected to play behind Andre Cisco in Jacksonville's secondary.

Jaguars' Christian Kirk: Cleared of calf injury
Kirk (calf) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
The only player who didn't attain full participation for Jacksonville on Wednesday was safety Daniel Thomas (Achilles), so Kirk had no limitations and isn't in danger of missing the season opener in Miami on Sunday. Kirk had missed some time in training camp due to what was described as a mild calf injury, but he has plenty of established chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and is set to work as Jacksonville's top wide receiver following the offseason departure of Calvin Ridley.
