Browns' Jamari Thrash: Makes progress
Thrash (illness) was a limited participant during practice Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Thrash wasn't able to practice at all Wednesday, so this is a step in the right direction for the rookie. However, even if he regains full health in time for Sunday's matchup with the Giants, there's no guarantee he'll play, as the Louisville product has been a healthy scratch in each of the Browns' first two games.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Misses practice Thursday
Strong (hamstring) is not practicing Thursday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Strong has missed back-to-back practices since suffering a hamstring injury during Cleveland's win over the Jaguars in Week 2. Coach Kevin Stefanski has labeled Strong week-to-week, so he looks like an unlikely candidate to return in time for Sunday's game against the Giants. When Strong manages to retake the field, he figures to resume working behind Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman in the Browns' backfield.

Browns' David Njoku: Sits out another practice
Njoku (ankle) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Njoku hasn't practiced in any fashion since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Browns' Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, and he looks to be trending toward a second straight missed game Sunday against the Giants. Before officially ruling him out for Week 3, the Browns will wait and see what, if anything, Njoku can do during Friday's practice.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Limited Wednesday
Ward (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Ward still appears to be dealing with the shoulder injury that limited him during the Browns' Week 2 win over the Jaguars. If the issue prevents Ward from suiting up for Cleveland's Week 3 matchup with the Giants, expect Cameron Mitchell and Kahlef Hailassie to see increased work with the Browns' first-team defense.

Browns' Jack Conklin: Full go Wednesday
Conklin (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Conklin was able to practice in full for the first time since tearing his ACL in Cleveland's 2023 regular-season opener Wednesday. With Conklin appearing to have moved past his knee injury, he's expected to assume the Browns' top right tackle duties for the remainder of the season.

Browns' Myles Garrett: Misses Wednesday's practice
Garrett (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Garrett played through a foot injury during Cleveland's Week 2 contest and told reporters that he doesn't "feel great" after the win, so it's no surprise he's absent from Wednesday's practice. His practice participation Thursday and Friday will provide a better indication of his availability for Week 3, though Garrett will likely play through the injury regardless.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Not practicing
Strong (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Strong is considered week-to-week after injuring his hamstring in Sunday's 18-13 win over Jacksonville. Strong thus is likely to miss at least one game, leaving Cleveland's backfield in the hands of Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman, both of whom had already been working ahead of Strong.

Browns' David Njoku: Not practicing
Njoku (ankle) isn't participating in practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
His absence from practice comes as little surprise after head coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier Wednesday that Njoku is unlikely to play Sunday against the Giants. Njoku injured his ankle Week 1 and didn't practice or play Week 2, leaving Jordan Akins and Blake Whiteheart to rotate at tight end in an 18-13 win over the Jaguars this past Sunday.

Browns' David Njoku: Not likely to play Sunday
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that Njoku (ankle) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Giants, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Njoku isn't scheduled to practice Wednesday, but the Browns haven't determined whether he'll be able to mix into drills Thursday or Friday. In any case, Njoku is trending toward missing his second straight game after sitting out the Week 2 win over the Jaguars. If Njoku is unavailable versus the Giants, Jordan Akins would be in line to see added snaps, while Cameron Latu, Geoff Swaim and Blake Whiteheart would be potential practice-squad elevations to bolster the Browns' depth at tight end.
